Intel® Celeron® D Processor Product Information

Update of the over haul upgrade for P4b533-v 1.6a @533 FSB to a 800FSB northwood P4 2.4
Got one on ebay and install the new CPU
The P4B533-v is capable @ the 200Mhz clock, however the video is unstable at the high speed.
Maybe issue with the intel 845g graphic drive. Now run a P4 2.4G underclocked @ 166*4=667. Stable and now need to tackle the XP SP3 problem. Shouldn't be any problem with the new installed 2G OCZ DDR400 memory. THe OCZ should be more than plenty to run beyond 200Mhz. Need to find an old video card (PCI or AGP) to see if the issue within only video.

northwood is faster clock for clock but i dont think the difference is worth $30 bucks(just my opinion, ask for a lower price if u can). try overclocking, my preshot is doing fine for now at 4.1ghz.

As usual, here we are going to share the results obtained in Winstone test packages. Now we are using newer versions of these benchmarks released in the end of 2003. They are Business Winstone 2004 and Multimedia Content Creation Winstone 2004.

Business Winstone 2004 is a benchmark, which shows the average performance of the tested platforms during work in regular office applications. The test imitates the everyday work of an average user in a bunch of widely spread programs and displays the result basing on the time it took the programs to complete the tasks. The list of applications used in this benchmark for proper performance analysis is pretty long and includes Microsoft Access 2002 SP-2, Microsoft Excel 2002 SP-2, Microsoft FrontPage 2002 SP-2, Microsoft Outlook 2002 SP-2, Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 SP-2, Microsoft Project 2002, Microsoft Word 2002 SP-2, WinZip 8.1 SR-1 and Norton AntiVirus Professional Edition 2003.

I am looking to the similar info on the outdated P4B533-V Intel 845g Chihset and running P4 Northwood or Prescott at 800 FSB.

Hi there,

Have been playing with my P4B533 and a new 800MHz P4 2.8C the last two days. As others in this forum already mentioned, the computer posts and boots into Windows XP without any problem. You'll have to set the external clock in the BIOS manually to 200MHz, 1:1 memory ratio (4:3 doesn't seem to have any effect), check the Hyper-threading setting (ON by default) and select the most relaxed memory timings (by SPD or 2.5/3/3/7 for my 512MB PC3200 Crucial stick - otherwise it won't post).

If Hyper-threading is turned on, XP will find a new ACPI device (the "logical" 2nd processor), asks to restart and voila - everything SEEMS to be working fine.

Computer runs stable, Device Manager has two processor entries and the Windows Task Manager shows two separate CPU usage windows. CPU-Z confirms that the processor runs at 2.8GHz, and the memory at 400MHz with 2.5/3/3/7 timing.

SANDRA MAX3! runs all the benchmarks, here are some samples (w/ Hyper-threading turned on and all module options checked):

I also ran all tests in Memtest86 an entire night (~8hrs) without finding any errors. I don't have a decent 3-D card in this computer yet, so I can't comment on any stability issues with 3DMark or heavy gaming yet (it is my girlfriend's, but I will move my SCSI gear and GeForce card over soon and give her my old rig instead).

Well, here is the problem (as you might have guessed): The PRIME95 torture test and the 32M digit calculation with Super PI exhibit rounding errors within the first hour.
This is both with hyper-threading disabled and only one instance of PRIME95, and hyper-threading enabled and two instances of PRIME95 (I think Super PI only allows one instance at a time). With the CPU load at 100%, ASUS PC Probe shows that the CPU temperature rises to around 51°C, 10-12°C above the MB temperature and 25°C above ambient. Considering that the cooling inside my In-Win S508 case sucks (I have only one extra fan in the rear), I guess that these temperatures look pretty normal (both the CPU and MB are around 10°C above ambient when idle).

First thing I did was to replace my 300W Sparkle power supply with a 430W Antec TruePower - didn't make any difference (the rails read the same as before idle and under load). I briefly tried upping VCore and/or the DDR voltage from their defaults (1.525V/2.6V), but this didn't help, either. This is not really a surprise, since I am neither overclocking the CPU nor the RAM. At this point I was fairly confident that the north bridge is causing the problems since it is running fairly outside of its specs (at 200MHz it is technically 50% overclocked). The passive heat spreader got only mildly warm to the touch, so I unclipped it from the board, removed the pink goo and the foam pad around, applied a thin layer of silver grease and put the sink back on: Again, PRIME95 and Super PI detected hardware failures (rounding errors) after a while. Not sure if I was dreaming, but I think that the MB temperature dropped a degree or three (where is the sensor located, anyway?)

Next, I started reducing the FSB: First 199MHz - Nope, then 198MHz, Bingo! Two instances of PRIME95 ran for a couple hours without complaining. Super PI finished the 32M calculation. Damn, this was so close to the processors rated speed, I had to find a way around the memory controller limitation. Our forum moderator bigtoe posted a review about the P4G8X back in January, and he suggested that upping the AGP voltage on that board will also increase the voltage to the chipset which in turn allows for higher clock-speeds. I guess the same "trick" works for the P4B533!

Increased AGP voltage from 1.5V to 1.6V (all other settings in the BIOS relating to the processor and chipset on Default or AUTO) and everything is fine. Super PI takes exactly 48 minutes, 35 seconds to do the 32M digit calculation (512MB RAM, Windows paging file disabled) and two instances of PRIME95 ran happily for 8+ hours. Your mileage may vary, of course.

芭比的盛宴

出 生於丹麥的凱倫‧布里森(Karen Blixen)嫁了個男爵,於一九一四至三一年間在英屬東非經營咖啡農場(她寫的《遠離非洲》敘述了這些事)。離婚後回到丹麥,以筆名狄妮森(Isak Dinesen)用英文寫作。其中一篇故事「芭比的盛宴」於八○年代拍成電影,成了經典作。

狄妮森將她的故事置於挪威,不過丹麥製片人將地點換到丹麥東海岸,泥濘路與茅舍的貧苦漁村。在這沉鬱的地方,一個白鬍子牧師帶領一小群嚴謹的信義宗信徒。

該地僅有的一點點引誘這村人的屬世享樂,也悉數被這派人唾棄。他們都穿黑衣,只吃清水煮魚,以及麵包與水再加一滴酒煮的麵糊。安息日大家聚集,唱「耶路撒冷,甜美家鄉,我心饗往。」他們的指南針已定向新耶路撒冷,地上生涯則當作抵達天城不得不忍受的過程。

年邁鰥居的牧師有兩個年輕女兒:馬丁妮,取名記念馬丁路德;菲麗帕,則記念路德的門生菲利普。兩人怎麼掩飾,也蓋不住她們照人的明豔,有的人來聚會,只為了大飽眼福。

馬丁妮引起了一個年輕英俊的騎士軍官矚目,但是她拒絕了男方的追求,不然誰來照顧年邁的父親呢?軍官騎馬離去,娶了蘇菲亞女王的侍女。

菲麗帕不僅貌美,還有夜鶯一樣優美的歌聲。當她歌頌耶路撒冷,就像天城發出的嘹亮聲音。而菲麗帕認識當時最有名的法籍歌劇家阿奇葉‧帕賓(Achille Papin )。他當時在海岸地區休養,有一天走過死寂小鎮的泥巴路,卻聽到有資格在巴黎歌劇院演唱的絕好聲音,令他大吃一驚。

請容我教你正當的方法唱歌,帕賓力勸菲麗帕。全法國都會臣服於你腳前。皇親貴冑會排隊等著見你,你也會坐馬車到富麗堂皇的英格烈餐廳用餐。菲麗帕聽了受寵 若驚,允諾上幾堂課,不過就上這幾堂。唱愛情歌曲讓她緊張,而心中的悸動更是擾亂了她。當她唱完Don Giovanni裡的詠嘆調,在帕賓的懷中,他的嘴唇輕擦過她的,菲麗帕毫無疑問知道,這些樂趣必須要棄絕。父親寫信謝絕了以後的課程,而帕賓悵然返回巴 黎,猶如遺失了中獎的彩券。

十五年過去了,漁村變遷也不少。兩姐妹如今已是邁入中年的老處女,想要繼續亡父的事工,但是沒有他鐵腕的領導,教會鬧得四分五裂。有弟兄為了生意上的事與 另一弟兄有嫌隙。大家也在謠傳有兩個會友已經私通三十年。一對老太太彼此已經十年不講話。安息日固然還有聚會、唱古舊的聖詩,不過音樂已經失去原先的光 彩,也沒多少人願意參加。儘管問題重重,兩個女兒依然忠心耿耿地安排聚會,替牙齒掉光的老年人作水煮麵包。

有天晚上傾盆大雨,沒有人會想要這時候在外面的泥濘路上走,兩姐妹卻聽見門前砰地一聲。她們一開門,有個女人昏倒在那裡。把她弄醒,卻發現她不會講丹麥 話。女人交給兩姐妹一封帕賓的信。菲麗帕看到他的名字,臉頰就不禁飛紅,手顫抖著唸那封介紹信。女人的名字叫芭比,丈夫與兒子在法國內戰喪生,她的生命也 有危險,必須要逃出來。帕賓替她找到船位來這裡,希望村人能可憐可憐她。「芭比會煮飯,」信上寫著。

兩姐妹付不起錢,而且對雇個女傭也不是很放心。她們不信任芭比的廚藝--法國人不是又吃馬肉、又吃青蛙嗎?然而芭比比手劃腳的哀求,願意作任何家事,只要供她吃住,兩姐妹心軟了。

芭比為她們工作了十二年。她們第一次教芭比如何殺魚、煮麵包糊,她的眼睛睜得比什麼都大,鼻子微皺一下,可是從來沒有質疑交給她的差事。她餵飽村裡的窮人,也擔下所有的家事,甚至幫忙安排安息日的聚會。大夥兒都同意,芭比給這死氣沉沉的漁村注入了生機。

芭比從不提以前在法國的事,所以十二年後收到第一封信,委實令馬丁妮與菲麗帕驚訝。芭比讀完信,望著注視她的兩姐妹,不經心地告訴她們,她走大運了。巴黎有個朋友每年用她選的號碼買彩券,今年她贏了,而且贏了一萬法郎!

兩姐妹緊握芭比的手恭喜她,心底卻發沉。她們知道芭比要走了。

芭比中彩券那陣子,兩姐妹恰巧在討論如何慶祝父親的百歲冥誕。芭比來找他們請求一件事。十二年來我沒有要過任何東西,她這麼說。兩姐妹點頭。可是現在我有個請求:我願意為慶祝會作菜,為你們作一頓正宗的法國酒席。

兩姐妹雖然對這計劃有微詞,但是芭比說得沒錯,十二年來她沒求過任何好處,所以除了首肯,她們還能說什麼呢?

錢從法國寄來,芭比外出了幾天,去辦酒席事宜。她回來後的幾個禮拜,村民觀看船靠岸卸下酒席用的東西,不可置信地交換眼色。工人拉著手推車,上面裝滿一桶 一桶的小鳥。成箱的香檳--是香檳哪!--還有酒也隨之運到。整個牛頭、新鮮蔬菜、菌菰、野禽、火腿、奇怪的海產,還有一隻活龜,擺動著蛇一樣的頭。這些 都進了由芭比統御的廚房裡。馬丁尼與菲麗帕看見這些亂七八糟的東西緊張起來,趕快向如今只剩下十一名的蒼老會友解釋,她們何以勉為其難的答應。每個人都嘰 咕著諒解的話。經過討論,大夥同意來吃這頓飯,而且不評論菜的好壞,免得芭比想錯了。舌頭原是用來讚美感恩的,不是用來耽溺於異國風味食品的。

十二月十五日,吃飯的那一天下雪了,呆板的小鎮蒙上一層銀白,反倒有點生氣。兩姐妹很高興有不速之客參加:九十歲的魯小姐由侄子陪同赴席。侄子就是多年前追馬丁妮的騎士軍官,如今是將軍級的皇家侍衛了。

芭比不知用什麼法子搜集了夠用的瓷器與水晶,並且用蠟燭與常青植物裝飾房間。餐桌也擺置得很美麗。開始上菜時,村人記得他們的協議,都坐著不吭聲,像群圍在池塘邊的烏龜。只有將軍一直稱讚好酒好菜。

「阿曼堤亞多!」他舉起第一杯酒讚嘆說,「這是我喝過最純的阿曼堤亞多。」等他喝第一口湯,他發誓喝到的是龜肉湯,可是這裡沿岸哪來的龜啊?

「好吃極了!」將軍嘗了下一道菜又這麼說,「這是道Blinis Demidoff!」其他宴客臉上佈滿皺紋,也在吃同樣的山珍海味,可是既無表情也無意見。將軍一再誇讚一八六○年份的香檳,芭比要廚房幫忙的男孩不停替他斟滿酒杯。好像只有他才會品嘗眼前的美饌。

村民雖然沒有品論酒菜,可是筵席的氣氛似乎在他們身上產生神妙的效果。酒酣耳熱之餘,口齒也放鬆了,講起老先生還在世的歲月,講起海灣結凍的那個聖誕節。

作生意騙人的那個弟兄終於認錯,兩個鬧僵了多年的婦人也開始講話。有個老太太打嗝,坐在旁邊的一個弟兄毫不思索地說:「哈利路亞!」
而將軍好像只知品論酒菜。當廚房端上壓軸菜鵪鶉,將軍叫說他在歐洲僅在一處見過這道菜,就是巴黎聞名的英格烈餐廳;那裡有個女廚很有名氣。

將軍酒醉飯飽,喝得飄飄然,終於按倷不住,站起來發表談話。「朋友們,慈悲與真理已經相遇」他開始說。「公義與極樂亦將相吻」他至此要稍停片刻,「因為在 下平時演說無不小心準備,了解演說目標,然而在此與單純的會友為伍,那戴滿勳章的將軍猶如成了傳聲筒,傳述註定由他帶出的信息。」將軍的信息是恩典。

雖然那批會友並不完全聽得懂將軍的談話,但是在那一刻,「地上的虛幻如雲煙自眼前飛散,他們看見了宇宙的原貌。」這小群人道別,披著閃耀的雪花,在繁星密佈的天空下沒入小鎮裡。

「芭比的盛宴」以兩幕場景收尾。在外面,這些老輩人圍著噴泉激情地唱著古舊的信心歌曲,端的是一幕同心合意的場面:芭比的盛宴開了門,恩典悄然進來。狄妮森又寫道,他們覺得「好像罪已洗淨,潔白如羊毛,而且重新穿上這無瑕的衣袍,如小綿羊一般跳躍。」

最後一幕則是在屋內,廚房裡堆滿了未洗的碗盤、油漬的鍋子、貝殼皮、龜甲、軟骨、打破的桶、蔬菜碎邊兒,還有空瓶子,像是發生了災變一樣。芭比就坐在這些東西中間,累得好像十二年前那晚上她剛來的模樣。兩姐妹驀的想到,每個人都遵守誓言,沒有就芭比作的菜說過半句話。

「芭比,今天的晚餐非常好吃,」馬丁妮有些遲疑地說。

芭比的思緒好像飄往很遠,過了一陣子才說:「我以前是英格烈餐廳的廚子。」

「芭比,等你回巴黎以後,我們還會記住這一晚,」馬丁妮又說,好像沒聽見芭比講話。

芭比告訴他們,她不會回巴黎了。所有的親友死的死,坐牢的坐牢。更何況,回巴黎花費很貴。

「那你的一萬法郎呢?」兩姐妹問道。

芭比的話好像投下了一枚炸彈。她贏來的一萬法郎已經都用在酒席上,花得一文不剩。不必這麼震驚,她告訴兩姐妹。再說,英格烈餐廳像樣的十二人份晚餐就需要這麼多錢。

在將軍的談話裡,可以明明確確看出,狄妮森寫《芭比的盛宴》不是講美食的故事,而是恩典的比喻:一件禮物,花費了贈予者的所有,領受的人分文不動。將軍對聚集在芭比桌前那群表情嚴峻的會友說了這段話:

我們都聽人說過恩典在宇宙間可尋見。然而出於人類的愚眛與目光短淺,我們竟以為屬天的恩典是有限的....但是當我們眼目得開那一刻,我們看見也體會到,恩典是無限的。諸位親朋好友,恩典無求於我們任何東西,而單單要我們充滿信心等候領受,並心存感恩宣述。

十二年前,芭比來到這群沒有恩典氣息的人當中。身為馬丁路德的追隨者,他們每個星期天聽恩典的信息,卻在其他天想要藉著敬虔與苦行贏取神的喜愛。結果恩典 以筵席的面貌臨到他們。芭比的盛宴,千載難求的珍饈就如此為一群根本沒有做什麼的人鋪張。恩典以其慣有的方式臨到那座小漁村:免費、沒有附帶條件、對方請 客。

不少影迷喜歡看歷史題材電影, 領略古往今來風雲人物的歷史偉績。但,電影是虛擬的藝術,為增加戲劇張力和衝突性,劇情常顛覆史實,影迷恐誤以為真。最近,美國《洛杉磯時報》圈選了「十 大胡扯歷史電影」(Ten Most Historically Inaccurate Movies),影迷們或可參考之。

一、《史前一萬年》:羅蘭.艾默里奇執導的電影向來貼近事實(例如《ID4星際終結者》中,科學家因感冒激發靈感,以麥金塔電腦病毒癱瘓外星人艦隊),但今年他拍攝《史前一萬年》卻有些走樣。首先,長毛象並未在沙漠被發現,若牠活在沙漠,就不需一身長毛禦寒;長毛象也不可能用來建造金字塔,埃及最古老的金字塔要到西元前兩千五百年才有。

二、《神鬼戰士》:真實的羅馬皇帝康莫德斯(Commodus)未如電影描述般有戀姊情結,他雖是暴力的酒鬼,但並不愛抱怨;他統治羅馬超過十年,而非僅數個月。尤其,他並未弒父,皇父馬可.奧里列死於水痘,他自己也非慘死在競技場上,而是在浴缸中被謀殺。

三、《三百壯士:斯巴達的逆襲》:電影中古希臘斯巴達戰士力抗波斯大軍的溫泉關戰役確實曾發生,但波斯國王索斯並非八英尺(二四七公分)高的巨人。根據史實,斯巴達議會由年逾六十的長者組成,而非電影中卅幾歲的人。上戰場時,斯巴達戰士穿著銅製盔甲,而非賣弄肌肉、只穿一條皮製小短褲。

四、《末代武士》:日本在十九世紀確實曾雇用許多外國專家訓練他們的軍隊現代化,但其中多是法國人,而非美國人。日本男星渡邊謙飾演的武士首領勝元,確有其人,但他是切腹而死,而非死於戰場上機關槍掃射。阿湯哥飾演的美國酒鬼上尉歐格仁,應該比較會拿筷子,而非武士刀。

五、《阿波卡獵逃》:梅爾吉勃遜執導的這部電影,讓人類學家深感頭痛。馬雅文明確實有血腥的活人祭,但並非用來祭拜太陽神,而且,只有高階的俘虜才會被殺。電影結尾西班牙征服者駕船抵達,意味物競天擇的另一場大屠殺又將開啟。事實上,當時九○%的美洲原住民,皆因被感染天花致死,而非死於征服者的槍下。

创造奇迹 纵览Intel史上最能超频的10款CPU

  超频,顾名思义,就是通过技术手段让芯片工作在超过额定的频率下。在所有超频活动中,以CPU的超频历史最为悠久,成果最丰富。Intel的处理器历史,某种程度上也是一部主频提升和超频大战并存的历史。每一次制程升级,Intel处理器的极限频率就会大大提升,0.35微米制程的时候极限频率只能达到400MHz,而现在最先进的0.09微米制程已经可以让P4处理器在液氮制冷下达到7GHz的主频。今天,将通过本文回顾Intel历史上具有里程碑意义的10款CPU,他们都在自己的时代一次次创造着新的超频奇迹。


1、历史上最受瞩目的超频CPU——Celeron 300A <<<<<<<--------------I have this one
  Celeron 300A应当是历史上最著名的超频王了。Celeron处理器是Intel的一项创举,因为在Celeron处理器出现之前,Intel的处理器一直走高端路线,几乎不涉足低端入门级市场。在Pentium II处理器诞生之后,Slot1接口上缺乏可以用来和其他竞争对手打价格战的产品,于是Celeron诞生了。最初的Celeron有两款产品,分别是Celeron266和300,他们使用了和Pentium II一样的Convington核心,但没有L2 Cache。这类“残缺”的处理器虽然大大降低了制造成本,不过性能的损失似乎更大。两款Celeron处理器由于没有L2 Cache,超频性能很强,但是这种超频仅仅是数字游戏,对于性能的帮助极为有限。
  当Intel意识到这种过度简化的产品无法获得市场预期的效果时,Intel拿出了Celeron 300A,核心代号为Mendocino。“A”的区别在于引入了128KB的全速L2 Cache,而此时PentiumII处理器的二级缓存速度仅为512KB半速,这样,在达到同样的频率之后,Celeron 300A的性能丝毫不逊色于Pentium II。

超频之后的处理器性能已经和PII-450不相上下  当Celeron 300A出现的时候,人们忽然发现大部分Celeron 300A都可以轻松的上到100MHz×4.5的水平,而当时Intel的旗舰CPU也就维持在P-II 400-450的水平上,但是Celeron 450A的性能水平已经非常接近P-II的旗舰产品,因此Celeron 300A立刻成为了市场上的最为抢手的产品,几乎所有选择440BX主板的用户都会首先想到Celeron 300A,而非Pentium II。


2、壮士断臂——Tualatin Celeron 1.0GHz
  Tualatin绝对是一款经典的产品,特别是Tualatin Celeron,是Socket370最后的疯狂:0.13微米的制造工艺,256KB全速二级缓存,极低的发热量,便宜的架构。Tualatin Celeron也是笔者最喜欢的一款Intel产品。但是由于生不逢时,这款产品既叫好又叫座的产品最终被Intel强行停产以给Pentium4让路,表现出了一股Intel壮士断臂的勇气。由于使用了P3的架构,Tualatin所能达到的频率是有限的,一般最高只能到1.6GHz。不过即使是1.6GHz的Tualatin,也足以让P4 2.0汗颜,这就是P3架构的威力,如果不是搭配的815EPT过早停产,如果不是SDRAM可怜的带宽,如果不是Intel急于推广P4,那么Tualatin这款产品无疑会有更出色的表现。
  Tualatin Celeron共有四款:1.0GHz,1.1GHz,1.2GHz,1.3GHz和1.4GHz,具备100MHz的外频,超频能力最强的当属1.0GHz的产品,不加压即可提升到133外频,超越P4 2.0GHz。  笔者之所以花大量的篇幅来介绍Tualatin并非完全出于个人的喜好。Tualatin的成功是技术的成功,但是迫于市场策略的选择(因为Intel当时已经开始大把砸钱宣传Pentium4处理器了),Intel毅然决然的放弃了桌面版的Tualatin。之后,Intel在笔记本电脑市场推出了Pentium M,走了与Pentium4长流水线高主频截然不同的路线,Pentium M是一款低功耗,短流水线,低主频的产品。但在实际表现中,Pentium M的性能丝毫不逊色于Pentium4。很多迹象都显示,Pentium M就是Tualatin Pentium III的延续,也就是Pentium M架构的设计基础就是Pentium III。

3、奇迹—SL2W8的Pentium II 300  
当超频爱好者的眼球大多被Celeron 300A吸引的时候,另外两款产品在国外及台湾地区迅速走红,随后也零星的传入了内地市场,这就是两款Pentium II处理器:编号为SL2W7的Pentium II 266和SL2W8的Pentium II 300,这两款Pentium II处理器上450MHz的过程比Celeron 300A还要轻松,我们重点介绍Pentium II 300。在1998年的时候,台湾的DIYer就在风冷散热,3.2V的电压下,将一块Pentium II 300超频到了602MHz!不过鉴于当时Pentium II的价格太高,而且Celeron 300A盛行,所以这两款比Celeron 300A超频能力更强的处理器并为引起国内市场足够的反响。

  几乎所有的SL2W8 Pentium II 300都可以在默认的电压下上到450MHz,而且其中的大部分产品还可以在112MHz的外频下工作,达到504MHz!使用112MHz是有原因的,当时的BX主板还无法支持PCI频率的4分频,这样一旦外频达到133MHz,使用3分频时PCI频率就会突破40MHz,硬盘很轻易因此挂掉。450MHz对于SL2W8的P II300就是小菜一叠
  外界普遍猜测这两款“奇迹”产品是否采用了和Mendocino一样的全速二级缓存,才导致了这样强的超频能力,不过后来发现这批产品其实是Intel用Pentium II 450 Remark而来的,这个推论的关键是在这两款处理器中使用了仅在PII 450上使用的速度为4.4ns的东芝缓存芯片,而4.4ns的额定速度为225MHz,正好是450MHz速度的一半,因此这类CPU的品质出众自然在情理之中。

4、137%——Celeron 566超频到1.342GHz
  使用0.18微米制造工艺的Coppermine核心是Intel历史上另外一款极受关注的产品。作为低端产品,Celeron 566再度掀起了超频风暴。这款倍频为8.5x的产品可以轻松的上到850MHz,少数产品可以逼近900MHz;当然,这只是基础,到了P4上市,Tualatin当道时,Celeron 566处理器更是频频迈上1.13GHz的大关,超频幅度达到了100%。只可惜那时Coppermine核心受关注的程度已经跌落到了谷底,因为主频1GHz的处理器比比皆是。


5、号称“Celeron 300A之后最能超的”Intel处理器——Pentium4 1.6A.<<<<<......me too
  P4 1.6A的代号为Northwood,采用了当时最先进的0.13微米制造工艺。P4 1.6A的FSB为400MHz,外频100MHz,倍频为16x。如果能将外频提升到200MHz,那么P4 1.6A就能达到3.2GHz的超高频率,不过能享受到这样“礼遇”的Northwood甚少。
  这有几个因素:首先是0.13微米工艺自身的极限在3.4GHz左右,要接近并突破这个极限必须使用极端的散热手段;其次当时大多数845主板都无法支持这么高频率下CPU的电流供应,直到875P的出现才解决了这个问题。相比而言,P4 1.8A至今仍有其实用价值,因为Northwood的发热量要比Prescott小得多,超频到2.6GHz以上对今天的主板来说一点问题没有,除了不支持HT,超频之后的P4 1.8A和目前的P4 506没有什么差别,甚至更好。


6、最高4.4GHz——Pentium4 2.4B
  P4 2.4B又是一款FSB533的处理器,倍频为18。这款处理器可以很好的承担起冲击3.4GHz以上频率的任务,当然,这不仅取决于编号,更要看出厂日期。虽然不是每块2.4B都能上到3.6GHz的频率,但是如果连3.0GHz都到不了,那么就有点出人意料了。需要注意的是,超频P4 1.8A或者是P4 2.4B,都需要一块品质出色的主板,最好是稳定支持200MHz外频的865甚至是875P的主板

7、低频Celeron D,庞大的超频家族 <<<<<-----I am ebaying this one
  Intel的CPU有一点令人奇怪,就是Celeron家族经常诞生超频极品。0.25微米工艺有Celeron300A;0.18微米有Celeron 566;0.13微米则有Tualatin Celeron 1.0GHz,到了90纳米制造工艺就出现了Celeron D。每一种制造工艺上都有极品的Celeron 处理器诞生。产生这样的情况并非偶然。

4GHz的Celeron D
  首先是Celeron往往后于同制造工艺的Pentium处理器推出,这意味着在制造工艺上,Celeron往往代表更成熟的制造工艺;其次是Celeron的规格被大大简化:通常是一般的二级缓存容量,在超频过程中,缓存容量越小,可超的空间往往越大。
  Celeron D 330(2.66GHz)以下的处理器的超频能力均非常强大,对外频为133MHz的Celeron D来说,200MHz的外频通常就是这些处理器的目标。普遍的规律是Celeron D的默认主频越低,达成200MHz的概率也越大;在Celeron D家族中,整体超频能力最强的当属Celeron D 320和Celeron D 325两款产品,倍频分别为18x和19x,理想主频为3.6GHz和3.8GHz。

  此外,还需要注意Celeron D的核心版本。Celeron D目前有两种接口,三种版本:Socket478和Socket775,C0,D0,E0。从主板的角度考虑,由于供电模块的原因,Socket775处理器达成更高频率的可能性更大;从核心的角度看,E0版本的Celeron D品质要略好于D0。还有一点需要注意,Socket775的Celeron D全部是基于E0核心的。

8、P4 506—“大号Celeron D也好超”  P4 506是一款今年暑期Intel力推的处理器,它的特点是:主频2.66GHz,倍频20x,FSB533MHz,1M L2Cache,E0版Prescott核心,支持EM64T,不支持HT技术。多家媒体拿到的样品都可以在默认电压下冲上4GHz(200MHz外频),这时的性能相当可观的。不过,由于不支持HT,这款P4 506被网友戏称为“大号Celeron D”,只因缓存是Celeron D的4倍;当然,P4 L2 Cache的延迟也要比Celeron D小很多。如果你对HT技术并不在意,那么可以考虑这款廉价的P4产品。
  P4 506之所以能超,主要原因是使用了E0制程的核心,品质很好,但是要注意,接近4GHz之后,主板的供电电路要承认相当高的负荷,如果主板不行,那么P4 506的潜力只有浪费的份了。9、Pentium M 780——仍有潜力可挖的珍珠

  如果说2005年最具创意的超频产品是什么?那么从国外玩家的反馈来看,非ASUS CT479转接卡莫属。这款转接卡连接了两位超频能手:ASUS P4C800 Deluxe以及Pentium M处理器。前者是Socket478平台上当之无愧的超频王者。虽然之前DFI推出了用于桌面PC的855主板,但855自身的超频能力是相当有限的,对于90纳米制造的Dothan Pentium M来说,P4C800 Deluxe才是发挥超频潜能的最好选择,事实也是如此。  目前全球Super Pi 1M纪录的前20名种,Pentium M占据了一半,其中又以最高主频的Pentium M 780(2.26GHz)的超频能力最强,在液氮的环境下可以达到4GHz!这时Pentium M的性能有多强看看这个就知道了:  由于CPU-Z版本的问题,Pentium M 780被识别成了Pentium M 735  Pentium M超频能力强得意于自身先进的制造工艺和极低的功耗。最高规格Pentium M 780的TDP仅为27W,核心电压低于1.3v,当然Pentium M 780的价格非常昂贵,如果你是一位热衷Pentium M的玩家,不妨选择价格便宜的多的Pentium M 740(1.73GHz)。不过在极限超频上,仍然是Pentium M 780最为出色。


10、旗舰产品,旗舰超频-P4 670  8月份,日本的玩家打破了Pentium4的超频纪录,他将一块P4 670超频到了令人乍舌的7GHz!并且完成了Super Pi 1M的测试并打破了Super Pi 1M的世界纪录。作为目前Intel的旗舰P4处理器,670代表了最高的品质,因此用它来创造P4的超频纪录实至名归。P4 670的主频为3.8GHz,具备2M二级缓存和EM64T,采用N0核心,而非5xx采用的E0或者D0核心。P4 6xx的品质非常好,因为在通常的情况下,增大二级缓存的容量之后,处理器的发热等电气指标也要相应增加;不过这次P4 6xx是个例外,从P4 5xx到P4 6xx,虽然二级缓存增大了一倍,但几乎所有的电气指标都没有增长,可见在P4 6xx上,Intel的功耗控制技术做的非常成熟。虽然笔者自己没有体验过P4 6xx,但国外玩家的反馈是P4 6xx的超频能力要强于P4 5xx,尤其是极限超频。  Super Pi第一和第二名目前均是由P4 670把持的
当前热门产品点评  Pentium M 780  P-M本身的发热量不大,不过要超频还是要注意散热的。无奈ASUS CT479搭配的散热器过于弱小,而且CT479本身的结构留给用户安装更强力散热器的可能性很小,所以超频P-M的时候最难的地方就是如何DIY一款适合P-M用的散热器。P-M超频的最佳平台自然是ASUS的P4C800-Deluxe,此外,P-M超频对内存的要求也很低,普通的DDR400即可。


Celeron D 320  便宜,能超,相对来说性能还过得去,这就是对超频之后Celeron D 320的评价了。Celeron D超频的瓶颈是发热。建议超频的时候使用热管纯铜散热器,此外还要注意主板的选择。一般来说,ASUS,ABIT,GIGA的865或者915以上主板值得推荐,不过要注意,因为在CPU供电模块上设计的标准更高,9xx主板更容易使Celeron D稳定工作在4GHz左右。所以,建议用户更多的选择LGA775接口的Celeron D处理器。Celeron D 331  Celeron D331是一款目前市场上常见的支持EM64T的Celeron D处理器,它是Celeron D 330的EM64T版本,价格便宜,而且整体超频能力极强。Celeron D331使用LGA775接口,基于E0核心。Celeron D处理器有一条泾渭分明的界限,即335以上级别的处理器超频的难度较大,而330以下级别的Celeron D则可以轻松的踏上200MHz外频,330/331正好处于分界线上,331超频的最有利之处就是倍频为20x,如果外频为200MHz,正好可以达到4GHz,对E0核心的处理器来说,加压达到这个频率并不难。Pentium4 506  P4 506超频仍然离不开好主板;勿庸置疑,ASUS的P5WD2 Premium是最理想的,不过其价格高得惊人。选择基于945P或者是nForce4 SLI Intel Edition的主板是较为理想的选择。因为P4 506运行在4GHz下的200MHz外频并不是大问题,4GHz下的电流输出和发热才是最重要的。所以除了主板,用户还需要一款强劲有力的电源和散热器。
Celeron D包括C0/D0/E0三种步进,D0步进的Celeron D 315或320在市场上最受青睐。新的E0步进LGA 775 Celeron D被称为Celeron D J,支持硬件防病毒。选择Celeron D仍要参考S-Spec。例如,Celeron D 315属该系列倍频最低者,具有较强的超频能力,又包括多种步进的产品,如SL7XG是C0步进、SL7XY/SL7WS是D0步进、SL8AW/SL87K是E0步进,E0步进才是首选。

They have filed corruption charges against first lady Wu Shu-chen and three former presidential aides over the alleged misuse of state funds.

Taiwan's opposition immediately called for the president's resignation.

The charges relate to the handling of a secret presidential fund used for diplomatic work overseas. Officials say around US$500,000 could not be properly accounted for.

During the four-month investigation, officials looked at six separate cases involving the use of the fund. They said the president's explanation for two were verified, but three were questionable and one was described as pure fiction.

Prosecutors say enough evidence to indict Chen, but he is protected by presidential immunity

The Public Prosecutor's Office of the Taiwan High Court announced on Friday it was filing charges of embezzlement and forgery of documents against Wu Shu-chen.

"Prosecutors found that Wu and three other suspects jointly claimed 14.8m Taiwan dollars (US$448,484) with false receipts... between July 2002 and March 2006," Chang Wen-cheng, of the prosecutor's office, said.

The first lady has previously denied any wrongdoing.

"Evidence also showed Chen is suspected of graft and forgery... but since he is protected by constitution against criminal charges, he can only be prosecuted after he leaves office," Mr Chang said.

Undermined

Ma Ying-jeou, of the opposition Nationalist Party, said Mr Chen must resign as soon as possible.

"He has lost the people's trust and respect, and as he is burdened with scandals, he can no longer lead the people nor effectively represent the country," he said.

There was no immediate comment from the presidential office.

President Chen has been facing growing calls for his resignation in recent months over the scandals to hit his family and office.

Last month, Wu Shu-chen was cleared of accepting vouchers from a department store in return for her influence.

In May, her son-in-law, Chao Chien-ming, was arrested and later charged with insider trading.

Mr Chen, whose term of office is due to run until 2008, has apologised for the scandals and did cede some powers to Prime Minister Su Tseng-chang in June to placate his critics, but has refused to resign.

The scandals have brought tens of thousands of people - both supporters and opponents of the president - out on to the streets to voice their views.

Dioxin poisoning



The campaign was often bitter and violent. Yushchenko became seriously ill in early September 2004. He was flown to Vienna's Rudolfinerhaus clinic for treatment and diagnosed with acute pancreatitis, accompanied by interstitial edematous changes, due to a serious viral infection and chemical substances that are not normally found in food products. Yushchenko claimed such poisoning to be the work of government agents. After the illness, his face became heavily disfigured: grossly jaundiced, bloated, and pockmarked.

After seeing Yushchenko's deformed face on the evening news, the Dutch toxicologist Bram Brouwer contacted the Rudolfinerhaus to test some of Yushchenko's blood at the Free University of Amsterdam for dioxin. According to Dr. Michael Zimpfer, president of the Rudolfinerhaus, these tests provided conclusive evidence that Yushchenko's condition resulted from high concentrations of dioxin, most likely orally administered. This hypothesis has also been suggested by British toxicologist Prof John Henry of St Mary's Hospital in London because the marks on Yushchenko's face were chloracne, a characteristic symptom of dioxin poisoning. Other scientists suggested that the illness might have been the result of rosacea but this theory failed to account for the severe internal medical problems that Yushchenko suffered. On December 11, Austrian doctors confirmed Yushchenko had been poisoned with TCDD dioxin, and had more than 1,000 times (other sources said 6,000 times) the usual concentration in his body.[5] This was the second highest dioxin level ever measured in a human. Yushchenko's chief of staff Oleg Ribachuk suggested that the poison used was a mycotoxin called T-2, also known as "Yellow Rain", a Soviet-era substance reputedly used in Afghanistan as a chemical weapon.

Yushchenko has linked the poisoning to a dinner with a group of senior Ukrainian officials, including the head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Ihor Smeshko, on the evening before Yushchenko fell ill. In connection to that, theories of links to the Russian FSB arose. This hypothesis is disputed by some toxicologists, who claim that symptoms of dioxin poisoning usually take 3-14 days to appear— Prof John Henry, professor of accident and emergency medicine at St Mary's Hospital in London, said "a few months after swallowing" or other contact[6] —and experiencing them a few hours after ingesting the poison would be unusual, though, given the extremely high concentration of dioxin found in his system, not impossible.

On March 27, 2008, the host of the first of the two dinners Yushchenko visited September 5, 2004, businessman Vladimir Shulga, 51, died of a heart attack in the waiting hall of the Shevchenko district militia office in Kiev.[7]

Yushchenko said he was poisoned by three waiters who acted like Andrei Lugovoi (a man accused of Alexander Litvinenko poisoning). The waiters fled to Russia.[8]
